By Ríona Flynn 4th, class 2020

My favourite composer is Fanny Mendelssohn. She wrote over 460 pieces of music. She was born on the 14th of November 1805 in Hamburg, Germany. Fanny died on the 14th of May 1847 in Berlin. She died after a stroke. She got married to a painter called Wilhelm Hensel on the 3rd of October 1829.  Her siblings are, Felix, Rebecka and Paul Mendelssohn. Her brother Felix became a composer too. Fanny had a child called Sabastian Ludwig Felix Hensel the year after she got married. Fanny learnt how to play the piano.

These are the names of six of her most famous pieces:
String Quartet in E flat major
Hiob Cantata
Overture in C
Notturno in G minor
Das Jahr
Bergeslust
