Ms Ruane here, just popping in to say hello, and I hope you are all keeping well! Thank you so much for all of your wonderful work and pictures it really cheers up my day when I get to sit down and read or look at your work! I’m so impressed with how all of you have adapted to this new, strange way of learning! You are all proving yourselves to be mature, independent learners and you should feel very proud of yourselves for that.

The Easter holidays are here and I want you to take this time with your family to have lots of fun. Get baking, help mum and dad in the garden, play games with your siblings, do things everyday to make you happy. Maybe there is a movie you and your family have been waiting to watch, get the popcorn 🍿 out and sit down and enjoy! 

Play board games, get the pack of cards out, draw a picture, or read your favourite book again.

There is so much  you and your family can do together! 

I would love to hear from you over the holidays so keep your art, diary entry’s, and photographs coming and keep all your friends in the loop about how you are spending your holidays- who knows you might even give each other a few ideas. 

Just because school has stopped for the holidays, it doesn’t mean I along with your peers don’t want to hear about your news, or the fun and exciting things that might be happening for you. If you want to share please send it on to me and I can put it up on the blog.

Ríona celebrated her 10th birthday yesterday 🎂 

She kindly sent a beautiful picture of her birthday cake and a little written piece about how she spent her day.

My 10th birthday

Yesterday was my birthday. I turned 10. My birthday is on the 2nd of April. Now everyone in the class is 10.

​I woke up at 7:18 in the morning and read for around 20 minutes. When I was reading, I heard Odhrán, so I pretended to be asleep. He just got into the bed beside me. Then Niamh came in. I pretended to be asleep again. Odhrán whispered to Niamh, “Shh, Ríona is asleep”. I giggled; suddenly Niamh leapt on top of me and started jumping on me. Then I pretended to be only waking up. When I went into the kitchen, Dad was making pancakes. They were delicious. Then Mam started to make my birthday cake (it was a chocolate fudge cake). I played Pixel Art on the computer for a few minutes. 

​For dinner, we had fajitas and wedges. They were yummy. After dinner, Mam started to decorate the cake. It had a chocolate gnash, sprinkles and candles. The chocolate gnash was chocolaty. 

​Instead of having a party in our house, we did one online at 4:00. Therefore, my aunties and my Nana did a call on the House Party app. The cake tasted yummy. Later we dropped a piece of cake over my Nana’s gate. She was delighted with it.

Then, I played on my tablet for an hour. On Minecraft, I had a party with Odhrán. I also played Hill Climb Racing and Helix jump.

​In the evening, I watched Great British Menu with my Dad. Then I brushed my teeth and went to bed.
